Raquel Debono is the founder of Public Affair Media, a communications and cultural strategy firm operating at the intersection of media, culture, entertainment, and influence.

Her career doesn’t follow a single lane: it cuts across public relations, law, talent representation, political campaigns, experiential events, and brand strategy. Raquel earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, an LLB in the United Kingdom, and a Masters in Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law from the University of Miami.

Her legal training pulled her straight into entertainment and sports, where she worked with athletes on Name, Image and Likeness deals reviewing and negotiating brand partnerships and advising talent on the commercial, contractual, and reputational stakes behind every endorsement. From there, her work expanded into advising brands, founders, lobbyists, public figures, and political campaigns on positioning, communications, partnerships, and media strategy.

She’s also built something rarer: a major political and cultural movement outside the traditional playbook, using social media, provocative messaging, and experiential events to turn digital attention into national media coverage and a real-world community. Her experiential PR work spans Art Basel activations, charitable fundraisers, political and cultural gatherings, and high-profile events including the Nova Music Festival Exhibition in New York.

Few strategists can draft a contract, produce an activation, run a press strategy, and write the tweet that gets it all covered, all before lunch. That range of legal, entertainment, humor, and a voice on X with real reach where she has racked up over 200 million impressions this year.
